11/1
The Lightning finished in 11th place at today's Class AAA State Meet. They were lead by junior Luke Bakken who earned All-State honors with a 20th place finish overall. Bakken spent the first 1000m working his way into the top 30 runners, throughout the next 4000m he wittled away at the runners in front of him to run a brave race and finish in 15:54, making him the 4th fastest runner in Eastview history. Sticking with Bakken for the first 2 miles was sophomore Owen Sampson who finished in 52nd place with a new PR of 16:23. Seniors Caden Sherman and Dylan Gagnon ran 16:50 and 17:02 respectively to take 3rd and 4th on the Lightning squad. Running a big PR was senior Avery Nielson who finished just behind Gagnon with a time of 17:03.5. Freshman Cooper Peplinski was the Lightning's 6th finisher running the 6th fastest freshman time in school history (17:13). The Lightning were rounded out by senior Lucas Spitzack who ran 17:48.9.
